Here is everything you will to know about a performer in the industry and what it takes to be a successful, working performer
Skills and AttributesPerformers in this industry must be very fit and healthy as they are required to perform several nights a week, pick up things fast and also have very long rehearsal days. Also performs must have good stamina as they're most likely singing and dancing at the same time for a long amount of time. Performers must be independent and motivated so they can go out and find themselves work and also be confident enough to network and follow up contacts for future jobs. Determination is a very important thing in the kind of industry as there are many people fighting for the same thing, every performer will get rejected at least once in their career but it isn't always a bad thing, the more times you get rejected the more experience you will get and it was also toughen you up as a performer aswel as a person. It is important performers can take instructions and feedback to improve their performance aswel as being able to work in a team to make something special in rehearsals. It is useful for a performer to know how to do their own hair and make up for shows as there won't be anybody to do there make up for them before they go on stage (depending which show and role in the show). It is very important for a performer to be organised and professional in this industry as the production team wants somebody they can rely on and know they will take things seriously,be on time and show them you mean business.
